About MicroVest: An Overview


MicroVest was created as a capital-mobilizing intermediary for microfinance institutions (MFIs).  We are organized along commercial lines with a strong private sector board. Our objectives are:

MicroVest seeks partners to build capital markets that work for the world's entrepreneurial poor.  We seek sustainable solutions to poverty by facilitating the flow of international private capital to low-income financial institutions.  We believe commercial investment is the best mechanism to achieve market financial returns to our investors and positive impact to the developing world.

The MicroVest Board is composed of professionals with extensive international private sector experience.

MicroVest manages a family of funds that make debt and equity investments in promising, existing microfinance and other low income financial institutions across broad geographic areas.

Since launching operations in 2003, MicroVest has provided financing to over 50 microfinance institutions in 25 countries.
